Intro: As Peña Nieto’s term comes to an end, the industry is preparing itself to wade through a transitional period marked by a new presidential term. In effect, the space created by the turnover of authorities could be taken as an opportunity to evaluate the current state of the industry and design the next chapter of the mining sector. Reflecting the incoming changes, this chapter will encompass a wish list from leading decision-makers in both the public and private sectors to create a picture of what the industry envisions as the future of mining in Mexico. It additionally discusses ways to keep the sector ahead of the curve and remain one of the world’s top mining destinations.
