The automotive industry has played a lead role as Mexico moved along the track to industrial diversification in the first decade of the 21st century. The industry, solvent and robust as few in Latin America, has made a qualitative and quantitative leap to generate 6 percent of GDP and 18 percent of the manufacturing industry.
