Description

The National Health Plan 2019-2014 seeks to ensure access to health for all Mexicans, regardless of their work or socio-economic status. In the short term, Andrés Manuel López Obrador's government plans to secure the provision of drugs, hospital maintenance and health centers. In the medium term, the administration’s plan is to expand the country’s health infrastructure. The government terminated Seguro Popular and created the National Institute of Health for Welfare to provide the three levels of care for all Mexicans. At the same time, it declared that the health budget for all states would be managed at the federal level.

As the health sector evolves, companies will need to reinvent themselves and look for innovative methods to do business with the public and private markets to continue providing the necessary mechanisms for a functional and efficient health system.
